I’ve been reminiscing on overseas holidays the last few weeks, dreaming up new adventures and destinations to visit with my partner Tom. We’ve been really fortunate to have visited some spectacular places over our almost 10 years together.. places and travels which still inspire my work, and how we live, to this day.

One of our absolute favourite places to visit is California (are you at all surprised? I think not!)… for it’s wildflowers, it’s dramatic coastline, winding valleys, breathtaking national parks, seemingly endless roads, wildlife. The interiors and architecture are crazy beautiful - full of character… styles I just keep coming back to again and again. I think that’s when you know you’ve landed on something you adore, right?!

Having explored a lot of California, over the past year we’ve been talking about where our next trip will be, going back and forth between Montana and the PNW (Oregon and Washington States). At the start of the year, you might have seen on my instagram that we decided the PNW would be next, eager to explore its mind blowing landscapes; moody mountains, scenic hikes, rugged beaches, meandering rivers… but also to explore its multitude of wineries, restaurants, coffee spots, gorgeous accommodations (I mean - the cabins there are wildly beautiful!), and those other in-between spots that make you form an immediate attachment with a place… you know, those once-in-a-blue-moon, washes-over-you-like-a-wave “ah-ha! This is what life is all about” moments. Something that can creep up on you in the simplest of moments, drinking a GREAT cup of coffee in the dappled morning light with a loved one, or when doing something amazing like standing atop a mountain, and quite literally feeling on top of the world.
