MY LOVE FOR a tablescape runs deep. Imagining the décor down to the little last detail - the seasonal elements I’ll weave in, the playlist, dripping candlewax and flickering light - a curation of things I love, to engage the senses and encourage us to let our guard down, to share in conversation and laughter around the table. That is one of the most rewarding things about hosting. A sentiment that is magnified in the cooler months.

AN ODE TO MOOD LIGHTING

Our ability to shift a mood and the energy in a room is as easy as lighting a candle - particularly when done in the disappearing light of the cooler months.

The comfort brought about by sitting under the romantic spell of candlelight is something we should afford ourselves at every opportunity. The soft glow creates an intimate atmosphere, and one that sends signals to our brains to slow down and be at ease.

Mood lighting is yet another key component to creating a successful tablescape, enlivening the senses, and invoking relaxation.
